Workplace Financial Wellbeing

Aurora partners with employers to provide practical, engaging financial wellbeing workshops and programmes.

We help people grow their financial knowledge and confidence, whether they are looking to get everyday finances working better, prepare for change or make progress towards future goals.

Our workshops explore both the practical and human sides of money. Participants learn about financial topics that matter to them while considering the goals, habits, beliefs and circumstances that influence their financial decisions.

At the heart of our approach is a simple idea: people are more likely to make progress when learning is relevant to their own goals, circumstances and priorities.

Why Workplace Financial Wellbeing Matters

For most people, the income earned through their working lives is what allows them to meet today's needs, plan ahead and build towards the things that matter to them. Yet financial decisions can be complex, and finding time to step back, build knowledge and think about financial direction is easy to put off. A workplace programme creates a dedicated space to do just that.

Supporting financial wellbeing matters both in helping people make the most of opportunities and navigate times of pressure. Money concerns are a significant source of stress for many workers, affecting their overall wellbeing and ability to focus at work. The good news is that well-designed financial education can improve financial knowledge and behaviour, particularly when learning is practical, relevant and connected to people's own goals and circumstances. This strengthens financial wellbeing by helping people feel more confident, capable and better equipped to navigate both opportunities and pressure.

For employers, providing access to financial wellbeing education is a practical and meaningful investment in the wellbeing and capability of their people.

MONEY MATTERS

Financial wellbeing affects people’s health, confidence and capacity to focus. Almost half of NZ employees have experienced money-related stress.

LEARNING WORKS

Research involving more than 160,000 people found that well-designed financial education  improves both financial knowledge and behaviour.

PROGRESS FOLLOWS

Clear plans support real progress. Our workshops help close the gap between having a goal and knowing how to get there.

Workshop Topics

Each workshop usually focuses on one main financial wellbeing topic. Popular workshop modules include:

  • Everyday money management

  • Rewriting our money story

  • Getting ahead financially

  • Pathways towards home ownership

  • Managing debt

  • Planning for change

  • Money and relationships

  • Getting started with investing

Modules can be delivered as standalone sessions or combined to create a programme that suits the interests of your team. We can also facilitate other financial wellbeing topics relevant to your workplace or group.

What to expect

Practical · Conversational · Engaging

We facilitate discussion and activities that encourage participants to explore the topic, draw on their own experience and consider what it means for their financial lives, goals and circumstances.

Sessions give participants space to reflect, exchange perspectives, ask questions and identify practical actions they can apply in their own lives.

We aim to create a supportive and inclusive environment where people can strengthen their understanding of money, explore what works for them and build greater confidence in their financial decisions.
