Our purpose

Money is woven through many parts of life. How things are going financially, and how we feel about it, is directly linked to our wellbeing; influencing our health, relationships and performance at work.

We're here to help people make the changes they want to see with their finances and improving their wellbeing. Through learning that is practical, engaging and non-judgemental, people increase their capability and confidence with managing money — empowered to make informed choices that align with their values and support their goals.

Our story

In 2024, Aurora was formed to provide new ways to financial wellbeing through education.

Aurora builds on more than 30 years of financial capability work through the Nelson Budget Service, which supported thousands of people with their personal finances. That experience provided deep insight into what people are looking for, and the practical steps that help build confidence and capability with money.

Now, Aurora focuses on financial education — creating and delivering workshops, programmes, and resources that support people to grow their financial capability, resilience and wellbeing. We work with a wide range of organisations and sectors, providing a service that is tailored to be meaningful, practical and engaging for participants.

If you’re interested in workshops, programmes, or supporting financial wellbeing in your workplace or community, we’d love to talk!
